NRA BASIC PISTOL

 

 

         Basic Pistol is a course every shooter needs. This course focuses on gun safety rules, proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, ammunition knowledge and selection, pistol selection and storage, shooting fundamentals, pistol inspection and maintenance, marksmanship, and shooting range safety. Additionally, students will complete live fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification at Point Blank in Mathews after completing the classroom portion with an NRA Certified Instructor. Students will receive the NRA Guide: Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination and receive a course completion certificate bearing the signature of the NRA Secretary and your NRA Certified Instructor.

Course materials and range fees included.
All classes will promptly begin at 8am and will last all day until 6pm. 

 

 

    Please arrive 10-15 min prior to start time, please bring a pen, note pad, drivers license, personal pistol with 50 rounds of the appropriate ammo, eye protection, and ear protection. Please leave your ammo and Personal Protective Equipment in your vehicle until other wise directed. All firearms must be unloaded and the actions open in the classroom. THERE IS NO LIVE AMMUNITION ALLOWED IN THE CLASSROOM. If you do not have a firearm, ammo, or PPE we have them all available to rent for $25.

Range operations will be conducted at Point Blank in Mathews

A $25 nonrefundable deposit may be paid to secure your spot. Private group options are available. A minimum of 3 students are required for any training course. If 1776 cancels the class for any reason we will issue you a refund or we can reschedule you for another class date.
